Ready to hit the road for your holidays this year? You’d better double check that list to make sure you didn’t forget anything this time. Here are a few things that are most commonly forgotten when it comes to vacation time.
Depending on where you are traveling to, you may need adapters before you can plug in your electronics. Double check when you make your hotel reservations to see what adapters will be necessary, and make sure you bring them along to avoid any electronic malfunctions.
Remember to bring chargers and extra batteries for all your electronic devices, including lap tops, cell phones, and cameras. Chargers are also the most left-behind objects at hotels. For an easy way to charge your devices, try getting a bag with a built in charge source. These are a lot easier to remember to grab on the way out.
3) Bathroom products
Toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, deodorant, shaving cream—these are some of the most commonly (and inconveniently) forgotten items on the travel list. Fortunately, most hotels keep bathroom staples on hand, providing soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Some even keep a supply of toothbrushes and toothpaste on hand, so make sure you ask behind the front desk before you hunt down a pharmacy or convenience store.
In this day and age when we pay for everything with plastic, it can be easy to forget to bring cash. It does, however, come in handy when it comes to paying for things like cabs, or even for shopping at local vendors you might come across. If you do forget to bring cash—or if you forget to bring the proper currency, you can always stop at an airport ATM on your way through.
5) Check the weather before you leave
Make sure you pack clothes clothing that is weather appropriate for where you are traveling to—and for the weather you’ll be experiencing when you get back home that first day. It’s also a good idea to pack extra sweaters, rain gear, and sunscreen just in case.
