Summer sales season is in full swing and it’s easy to get burned out when you’re trying to make the most of this hectic sales season. The key to surviving the summer sales season without breaking down or suffering from burnout is to try to maintain some balance in your life during this period. It can be difficult when you are working nonstop to get those some sales completed to take time for your own health and peace of mind but it’s essential that you do that in order to keep working and keep making sales throughout the summer. Here are some easy ways that you can take care of yourself and avoid burnout during summer sales season:

Go Phone Free For A Couple Of Hours

Experts say that you should try to unplug from your phone and the computer for at least 24 hours every week but that’s not realistic for a lot of people. When you work in a business where people expect to be able to reach you quickly you can’t just shut down and not be available for 24 hours. But, you can be unavailable for a couple of hours without people thinking that you’re hard to reach. If you are a morning person don’t reach for your phone or log into the computer when you first get up. Take two hours in the morning with no phone, no computer, and no distractions. Write in a journal, go for a walk, or work on your novel. Spend that time doing any hobby that you enjoy and that makes you feel better.

Or stop taking calls and posting on social media after 9 pm at night. Put your phone in another room to charge and spend that time relaxing instead of being on social media or responding to questions. Take a bath. Read a book. Spend time with your family and relax and recharge for the next day instead of being on your phone until very late and then crashing after midnight so you can get up and do it all again the next day.

Eat Healthy

The food that you eat is the fuel your body runs on. During summer sales season it can be tempting to run through the drive-thru for an unhealthy but tasty bite to eat when you’re racing around. Or you might indulge in some high-calorie coffee drinks to give you the energy to get through one more meeting or one more showing . But all that unhealthy eating is going to take a big toll on your health. Try packing healthy snacks and salads that you can take with you when you are racing around. Keep a cooler in your car with sandwiches, fruit, and cold water that you can eat and drink throughout the day so you’re not loading up on high calorie unhealthy fast food and drinks.
