Social media marketing is a necessary part of attracting buyers and sellers these days. There is no getting around it. If you’re not using social media marketing for your listings you are losing a huge segment of the business. But being on social media often can feel very overwhelming at time. If you’re starting to feel burned out or frazzled by social media or if you are starting to check your social media all the time, even when you first wake up or just before you go to sleep, you might need a break. Sometimes breaks from social media are necessary in order for good mental health. When you are overwhelmed by social media here are some of the things you can do to take a break without losing your momentum:
Schedule Your Posts
Unfortunately, you can’t just disappear from social media for a month even though sometimes you might want to. But you can schedule your social media posts so that you’re not frantically trying to post on social media throughout the day. Set aside an afternoon during the week or on the weekend where you can write up all your social media posts. Use images, memes and other elements in your posts to keep them fun and relevant. Then schedule each post to appear when you want it to appear and you’re done. Your posts will post on different social media platforms each day and you won’t have to do it manually so that you can focus on other things.
Schedule Time for Social Media Responses
Of course, posting new content isn’t the only part of social media that matters. You also need to respond to tags and private messages. And if you aren’t careful those responses and private messages can become a huge time waster that eats up half of your work time during the day. Instead of letting social media responses get out of control and take up precious time only answer direct messages or post responses on social media during set hours of the day. When those hours are over you are done with social media for the day. That way you aren’t wasting hours every day responding to people on social media. Many people like to check social media in the morning when they have coffee and then at night after dinner but it’s up to you when you want to schedule your response time.
Take A Break
Sometimes you just need to leave social media for a bit and clear your head. And that’s totally ok. You’re not going to sink all your hard work if you leave social media for a few days. So when it all feels like too much delete your social media apps for a few days and take a break.
