If you’re not using Facebook Groups you are losing an opportunity to connect with local buyers and sellers and get some solid leads. Some people think that using social media to get leads takes too much time and doesn’t bring in enough leads to make it worth the time that it takes to build up a social media presence. But Facebook Groups operates differently from Facebook Pages and those differences make Facebook Groups a much better way to connect with leads.
Facebook Pages Vs Facebook Groups
You probably already have a Facebook Page for your business or for your brand. That’s where you post listings and general information. And you probably have some followers although possibly not as many as you’d like. A Facebook page is definitely something that you should have. But when people log into Facebook they may not always be seeing your Facebook page and the information that you’re posting. Facebook’s feed makes it difficult for some pages to get seen and so things that you post may not show up right away in people’s newsfeeds, if at all. That could be why you don’t get a lot of interaction with the people that like your page.
A Facebook Group, on the other hand, makes it easier to interact with potential buyers and sellers. When you post questions, comments, stories, and information in a group you are more likely to get people commenting, responding and participating in the discussions.

Group Seminars and Q&A
Because Facebook Groups make it easier to interact with people you can use your group as a forum where you can present information, or answer questions, or engage with potential buyers and sellers in other ways. The more active the group is the more potential leads you will get. And group notifications mean that every time someone posts in the group everyone in the group will receive a notification which leads to even more dynamic interaction.
Your Facebook Group doesn’t have to be limited to people in your area, although it can be if you want it to be. By setting up a group that is focused on selling home in a certain area, or providing information to first time buyers, or answering the questions of Baby Boomers that want to downsize, or whatever niche you want to pick you will be able to reach potential buyers and sellers who are actively looking for help and advice. That can translate into more sales, more clients, and more leads. And since you are encouraging discussion among the members of the group you don’t have to be posting in the group every day in order to get new leads.
