How to Survive A Slow Sales Season When Selling Real Estate

During the holiday season sales can slow to a crawl which makes it difficult for agents to get through that slow period financially. A great way to leverage your skills into something that can generate income during off seasons or slow sales seasons is to write books, teach seminars, and use your knowledge and expertise to help Edmonton home buyers and sellers who are not quite ready to jump into the market yet learn more and get their finances ready for buying and selling. Just a few of the informational products that you can use to generate additional income are:

Ebooks

Ebooks are a fantastic product to sell as income generators or to use as an incentive for people to sign up for your newsletter through your website. A short Ebook with basic information for buyers and sellers is a great way to connect with new potential clients and establish your expertise in the market. That way when those people are ready to buy or sell they will come back to you. Writing an Ebook isn’t as hard as you might think and you can always hire a copywriter to do the actual writing if you don’t want to write it yourself. But Ebooks are definitely worth considering as an additional income stream.

Seminars

Seminars are great because they are one-time events that you can use to generate a lot of income in one day. Home buying seminars for potential home buyers who are getting ready to start looking for homes in a month or two can generate money now and can get you, potential clients, later on when your students are ready to buy new homes. And seminars for home sellers can do the same thing. You can rent a hall to host the seminar or a hotel meeting room but you can also keep it informal and host it in your own home or in the meeting room of a community center. That will give it a more personal touch and save you money.

Online Courses

Another option is to consider teaching an online course in real estate for a local community college or technical college. You can reach potential clients and make money as an instructor at the same time. Generally, online courses only last a few weeks and you don’t have to make a huge time commitment in order to run the class. Because everything is done online you can grade assignments and answer emails from students when it’s convenient for you so that you can still market your listings and work on sales around the course. Many agents cultivate additional revenue streams to keep the income flowing during the slow sales season of the year.
