Curb appeal is important. Not only does a well-manicured façade keep your neighbourhood looking great, but it also makes your home much more appealing for potential buyers. If you are planning to put your house on the market, here are a few easy projects you can tackle to create quick and easy curb appeal.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a true green thumb to knock this out of the park. If your home has rather plain frontage, adding a garden bed can be a quick and easy way to spruce it up. You don’t have to line your home’s exterior with beds either, get creative. Creating a circular flower bed in the centre of the lawn and incorporating small shrubs and decorative rocks is a good way to create a focal point without too much effort.
All home building stores have gardening centres and gardening experts. They can help you pick out the most appropriate flower varieties, as well as the tools and materials you need to make the project successful.
A Walk Way
If you don’t have a walk way leading to your front entrance, consider adding one. You can use broken up flag stones, gravel or stepping stones to make it less typical and more eye-catching.
If you can’t really afford to do much, the best thing to do is ensure that what you do have is pristine. Make sure the grass and any hedges are trimmed, and consider fertilizing it enrich its depth and colour. Clean the outside of your home with a designated cleaner that attaches to a garden hose – quick and cheap. Make sure your windows are cleaned, your eaves are cleared and that each window is fitted with proper blinds or drapes (no sheets, flags or anything like that).
