Schools are a top priority for parents. Therefore, when parents are looking to buy a home they are going to want to look in neighborhoods where the schools get high rankings. Houses in neighborhoods that are near the best schools are often something that parents are willing to pay higher prices for. Find out what the school rankings are in the community so that you will know what neighborhoods parents are most likely to want to look in for a new home.

Family Oriented Community

Parents also want to buy homes in a family-friendly community where there are other families. HOA communities or planned communities are often a great fit for young families. Although parents might be wary of buying into an HOA community because HOA communities sometimes get a bad reputation because of their strict rules. It might take some convincing to get parents to consider an HOA community but often those are perfect communities for young families.

Family Amenities

Parents don’t want to have to spend a lot of time driving all over town to get their kids to different types of amusements. Safety is also very important for parents. They want their kids to grow up in the type of neighborhood where they can play safely outdoors with their friends. A community with properly maintained sidewalks, lots of street lamps and good lighting, and not a lot of hazards like streams or woods are what parents are looking for. They want to feel safe letting their kids ride their bikes around the neighborhood or go to the pool or tennis courts alone with their friends. Some parents also prefer planned communities with a gated entrance.

Another element that is very important to parents when they are looking at prospective homes is the amount of outdoor space available. Of course, they want a home with a nice yard. But they want the community to have plenty of open spaces where kids can play safely.
