4 Ways To Maximize Summer Sales

Summer is starting to wind down and your sales may be slowing down too. But there are a few ways that you can renew interest in your listings and catch the attention of buyers now so that deals can close before the summer is over and kids go back to school. If your sales are lagging in the summer heat these four ideas should help get things moving again:

Change Your Open House Times

Now that summer is in full swing people are often spending their weekends enjoying the outdoors at the beach or at the park. So, if you’re holding open houses on the weekends and not getting a lot of traffic you need to consider that during this time of the year more people are spending their weekends taking short trips and enjoying time with their families. Move your open house times to evening hours during the week so that people can come by after work instead of having to wait until the weekend to see a home. Since so many people are busy on weekends open houses during the week will be more successful.

Advertise Offline

You don’t need to abandon the digital world, which can still be a great way to reach potential buyers. But because the weather is warm and people are outside more place signs and ads outside in the neighborhood where the home you are showing is and place ads on bulletin boards and other places where people are spending their time as well.  Many people unplug during the summer and spend as much time as they can outdoors so signs, balloons, and other real-world promotional items are important during the summer.

Get the Neighborhood Involved

Showing off the backyard space and entertainment space that a home has is important, but so is reaching out to the community. The people in the neighborhood may have family or friends who are looking to buy in the neighborhood. So instead of focusing the open house entertainment in the backyard do it in the front yard and invite the neighborhood. Fire up the grill or invite some local food trucks to set up near the house. Offer food and refreshments to everyone.

Make the Open House an Event

Throwing a party is going to be a lot more interesting to people than an open house. So, combine the open house with a theme party that celebrates the attributes of the home. If the home has a great view of the city lights hold an evening open house with drinks and snacks on the deck to show off the great view. If the home has a huge family-friendly yard organize a community kickball game to really appeal to families and offer family-friendly foods and drinks.
