Millennials are one of the biggest groups of homebuyers. But many Millennials are not that happy about the idea of buying houses in the suburbs. Even though their money can go a lot further in the suburbs they may not like the idea of living so far outside of the city when they are used to conveniences of the city. Often though their first -time home buyer budget doesn’t allow them to purchase the kind of home in the city that they want. If you’re trying to steer Millennial buyers into considering a home in the suburbs here are four ways you can show them the benefits of buying a new home in the suburbs:
Show Them What Their Money Will Buy In The Suburbs
One of the best ways to get Millennial or first-time buyers to consider buying a home in the suburbs instead of in the city is to show them what their money will get them in the suburbs. Millennial buyers are often blown away by the large houses with a modern updated design they can afford in the suburbs as compared to what they can afford in the city. Make sure that you show them a few houses in the suburbs and point out the extra square footage, flexible floorplans, and other luxuries that they will be able to afford outside the city.
Show Them What They Money Will Buy In the City
Then, just too really drive home the point; show them what their money will buy in the city. Often after seeing large new homes with lots of space and updated amenities in the suburbs they won’t find the idea of buying an older home in the city as exciting as they did at first. New homes with high-end finishing’s and lots of space in the city are usually way out of reach financially for young homebuyers.
Stress The Amenities That The Suburbs Offer
Once they are starting to think about all the extras they will afford if they buy a home outside the city be sure to stress all the extra amenities that come with a home in the suburbs. Show them homes in planned communities that will give them the community spirit they want and will give them access to things like on-site grocery stores, very nice pool and fitness facilities, ample parking and other amenities that they might not have thought about.
Get Them To Focus On The Future
Young homebuyers want the glamor of city living now, but what about in the future? Be sure to point out that in the future as they start to have children living in the suburbs will mean access to great schools, family friendly neighbors, and the kind of lifestyle that they will want to have as parents.
